Sustainable Florist

When you choose flowers for life's special moments, you want to know they're not just beautiful, but also kind to our environment. As a florist with deep roots in agricultural studies and a half-acre garden in the Adelaide Hills, I understand this responsibility deeply.

Our Garden to Your Home

My Kersbrook garden is a living testament to sustainable floristry. Here, surrounded by the changing seasons, I cultivate an abundant variety of blooms including:

  • Striking proteas and banksias

  • Native leucadendrons

  • Classic English roses

  • Lush hydrangeas

  • Vibrant tropical plants

This direct connection between garden and arrangement means many of your flowers travel mere kilometres rather than continents to reach you. When my garden's bounty needs complementing, I work closely with local South Australian growers who share my commitment to sustainable practices.

Thoughtful Choices, Better Practices

The journey toward sustainability is one of continuous improvement. While some traditional floristry practices are difficult to eliminate entirely, I'm committed to finding better solutions:

  • I've completely transitioned away from plastic ties in favour of natural twine

  • When floral foam is necessary, I use it minimally and thoughtfully, always seeking alternative techniques where possible

  • By prioritising locally grown flowers, we significantly reduce the need for imported blooms and their associated transportation emissions

Working Together for Change

Your choice of a sustainable florist makes a real difference. Every arrangement from my studio reflects not just artistic vision, but also a careful consideration of environmental impact. This balance of beauty and responsibility ensures your flowers bring joy while respecting our natural world.
